down the creek than the others had gone but another got stuck near the long one: so I think Frank conceived the idea of making a raft out of three logs and riding down on it an dloosening nsome of the others that were fast. I went up to the barn to het spikes and some pieces of scantlingand discovered Mary. & Bobbie in the barn I had left them in the yard but as their stable door was swelled I couldn't fasten it shut and they ha dgone in and walke d right through their stancions into the barn Mary had knocked over. abag of wheat and spilled a lot but I dont think had eaten muxh. I turned them out in the field. After we got raft made and launched, we found it wouldn't hold us up so we had to tkw it to pieces and let the logs go separately. We the put in two logs from the big tree and by this time it was getting layte so we went down along the creek and loosened up one or two that were stuck on this side. Frank had hios rubber boots so could get at them better thanI could. We didn't see any g down near the end of th gully but we were sure we put in 11 logs and when we went down could only count 10. I went down through Dave's as far a s the culvert but couldn't locate the missing one, so we don't kniow whether it has gone on down through the wood sor whether w emade a misytake counting. Very mild, sunny fir awhile this after oon but raining again to-night.
