It froze very hard during the night and has been very cold all day with a nasty north west wind. I didn't do any thing but the xhores, but spent most of the day nursing my face with the hot-water bottle We were very much syrprised to see by to-day's papernthat we had had an earthquake Saturday night. We didn't notic eit here but several people in town felt it. Cousin Willie saw the brick wall in the house move, and Pickford felt it in bed. Down through Eastern Quebec some damage was done by it

way over to the school house where she had some work to do so I went over and put a fire on for her. About five o'clock {words are too faint to read} started to get sore so I {words are too faint to read} and get Dr. Lemmons to pull it out. I didn't {take?} time to hook up but walked into town and caught Bill {words are too faint to read} he was about to leave the office He went at my tooth but didn't make a very good job of it as the top all broke to pieces and he couldn't get a very good grip on the roots, he got one prong out but had to leave one in. He had to do a lot of prying and twisting so it hurt like the mischief although he shot a lot of dope into it first. Willard Butler picked me up just outside of town and gave me a ride {home?} so I was able to get the milking done before dark. I felt pretty tough to-night. Much milder to-night.

Sunday March 1st

Marj. and I just sat around to-day not doing much more than we had to although Marj. made a cake in case Aunty & Aunty Alice came out to-morrow. I felt pretty tough. My face wasn't so sore but I think the stuff he put in my tooth made me feel sick. It snowed all day and got very soft this after noon but turned colder late in the evening
