As it was frozen this morning I thought I could get out a few more loads of manure but the sun soon got up strong and although I got two loads out the ground was too soft and the waggon cut in badly so I quit. I heard an engine going over in Willie Shand's woods so walked over to investigate and found Willie Shand, Will Cruise, Tom Aiken & Tom Stone doing a great business sawing wood with the saw frame outfit that Willie Shand & Will Cruise bought from Frank Shearer for fifty dollars. The two Willies were running the machine and the Tom's were skidding the logs. Willie was as delighted as a kid with a new toy and thinks the machine will soon pay for itself in the time it will save. Possibly

I didn't do much but chores this forenoon and went over to the Lampkin's for a little while this after noon. I drove down town quite late in the afternoon and went to see Marj. for a short time and then went over to Billy Lang's shop and got a bag of oat chop from Jack who is at the shop every night after five.
