down to Aunty's for dinner so that he & Gay could have a romp to-gether. They were glad to see each other but were not at all demonstrative over it. I spent the after noon with Marj. and took Harry B. over with me for awhile. Aunty came over a little later and got him. He regards Baby {Hister?} as a great joke. Marj. is alone at Mrs. Lawson's now. Mrs . Woodyer left on Friday and Mrs. McKenzie to-day. I went home about five and went down to the McDonald's and got Ina. I picked Mabel up on the road and she went down with me and held Gay. It has been partly cloudy with a raw east wind all day.

Monday March 23rd

It was frozen this morning so I hauled out a couple more loads of manure but the sun soon got too hot and thawed the ground so that it wouldn't hold the waggon up I then took the waggon down in the orchard and gathered up the old brush that has been there since last Spring and piled it. I spent most of the after noon down there. I put 8 little chickens out with the old hen this morning, 10 hatched out of the twelve eggs and two died. I set 3 more hens to-night but didn't put eggs under them. It has been a beautiful day but with quite a sharp east wind.

Tuesday March 24th

I finished hauling out manure this morning on the piece west of the barn. I haven't it spread yet but it is piled up to the far end of the young orchard. I burned quite a lot of grass up there around the young trees. This after noon I went down to see Marj. and left Ina & Gay at Mrs Lampkin's for the after noon. Marj. had had a little fever again and Mrs. Lawson got the doctor to come down but she seemed to feel all right. Fine day rain to-night.

Wednesday March 25th

I went out and got three more settings of eggs from Mrs. mcBride and set two of my hens, the third one showed signs of not wanting to sit so I shot her on the nest and didn't put the eggs under her till to-night. I soent the remainder of the forenoon trimming the young orchard and got it all gone over after a fashion. Willie Syand cam eover while I was there and dsaid he was going to try ploughing with the tracotr this after noon on sod. They were ploughing with the grey team on corn stubble this after no morning O dtove Ina and Gay down to the Donals's after dinner and I went on down to see Marj. I had told them
