seed. I didn't know whether the drill was sowing to thick or whether there was more than 2 1/2 acres in the field so this morning I measured the field and found it was a scant 2 1/2 acres. The drill had nearly a bag of seed in it so I thought by shutting it down I could make it go over the field but it ran out when I just had about 2 rounds more to go, so I will have to leave that much till next week and get some more seed.

I harrowed over what I had sowed and ran out the one long ditch & its one tributary. I had Dave's roller & harrows borrowed Tuesday morning I wernt down to Sid's to have Queen shod as it rained a little Mondday night and I thought was too wet to work on the and. Sid couldn't show her then as he was just starting out to post up Mrs. Marshall's sale bills so I drove out to Matthu=ias `Shiltz's to inquire about a girl that I heard was out tere and that he was goinf to let go, but she wa salready spoken for. Ina cam eWednesday to wash and Wednesday we got work from the Barnardo Home saying they ha d no girl available at oresent but advised us to send in an application to-gether with a fee of $3.00 and they woukd send one as soon a spossible.
