we were there. Tom was at the back of the place fixing fence but came up and helped us put on a load of hay and agreed to haul it for Dad. after dinner. I started to roll down the freshly ploughed corn ground before dinner but didn't get much done. This after noon Frank and I both went back home, I drove Queen and we packed the wool and Dad. & I took it down to the station. Aunty & Aunty Alice came over to the farm after dinner and rode back with us on the wool sack. We had to stop at Uncle Ward's and wire up the waggon tongue as we noticed after we got started that the end of it was broken. It looks as if the tractor had gone over it. We saw Huby down at the station and he was telling us the trouble he had had with the inspector's. They accused him of being short of funds and Quint had to raise over $100. dollars for him on very short notice. He aparently didn't know that Quint borrowed it from Dad. Later they found they had made a mistake and told Huby they supposed he was agreeably surprised. Huby said not at all as he knew his books were all right. Huby said it was a hell of a rest he got, he was lucky they didn't arrest him and the expert who was here relieving left the books terribly muddled. He thinks they sent in a very bad report. By the time we stopped up town for some groceries and again at Billy Laings it was pretty late when we got back to the farm and later still when I got home. Sam Morris has let Cecil go from the printing office. Cecil ran a nail in his foot again last week and thought he had to stay home two or three days and nurse it so Sam. got peeved and fired him.
