Cousin Bessie's where they were much admired and Marj. went up to the Bagley's. The baby and I stayed at Aunty's. Aunty Alice got two letters from Mr. Park's, one written just as the boat was leaving asking her to ask Quint if he remembered where he last had his flask and if so to get it and keep it for him, and the second written on the boat and posted by the pilot to say that the steward or somebody had found the flask. We stopped in at the farm on our way home. Dad. & Frank were hauling out manure. He gave me $5.00 to give to Harvey Shand in payment for a jag of hay that he got there a year ago, so I walked up with it before tea. Not quite so cold but north wind and cloudy. Just as we were ready for bed to-night Harry B. gave two or three terrified yells and when Marj. picked him up he was in a shiver.

Tuesday May 26th

Harry B got into bed with us some time during the night and about 4.30 this morning Gay raised such a row that I had go and get her and put her in bed and as the baby had been there nearly all night, it was pretty filled with out me so I stayed up. I didn't gain much time though as I was so sleepy after dinner to-day that I lay down in the hay out in the barn and slept for I don't know how long. It froze very hard last night but has been a little milder to-day, but not warm by any means and quite cloudy. I spent the day disking on the field north of the lane. I didn't go all over it but got the worst of it gone over twice. The grass was pretty bad on the side hill. Ina was here all day. Harry B had another frightened & rather frightening shaking attack to-night.

Wednesday May 27th

I went out to look at the garden to-night this morning and there was no sign of anything up yet and a very hard crust on the ground so I took my little wheel hoe and went up and down each side of the rows to break the crust but I was afraid to break it right o over the seeds. I then hoed another row of strawberries. About ewlweven I went down town as Dad. tolf me they wouldbe through with the sopreader to-day and if I would bring Queen over, he would come out woth it and clean up my barnyard. I didn't et down soon enought o get all the things I wanted and got to Bill Laings before noon so I had dinner at Aunty's and gotmy hair cut right after I then went to Billy's and got some oasts but by the time I got over home it was too late to take the spreader out. Carl Coleman and Billy Laings both mentuoned hearng that dad. had come in for $2 000 000 so i suppos eit is all over town. Cark said he hope dit was true as there was no one he would sooner see get it.
