Quint brought a sign over for me to fix up for him, he says he is embroiled in a price cutting war with Ben Ivey et al and has issued an ultimatum to them which if they don't accept he will cut prices himself to such an extent as to wreck things. David came over to the farm to-day with Dr. Cook, he is to stay there till after the arrival of his sister which is scheduled for any day now. Dad. had two long letters from Mr. Parks to-day |

after Mr. Parks told him that Dad. would continue to engage him at a liberal salary provided he acted decently now. Mr. Parks also tactfully intimated to the solicitors for the rest of the bunch that it would be well worth their while not to kick up any rumpus.
