I soent the whole day cleaning up the strawberry patch and then got very little more than a row cleaned as it is a slow job. Gibson was in this morning to renew my fire insurance policy. Mabel & her aunt were in late this after noon to see Marj. School starts again to-morrow. I have been workong up a cold all day and feel like a boled cabbage to0night. Hot

Sunday August 30th

It has been very hot and oppressive to-day and we have done very little but sit around. We just worked in two meals. I went out to the garden this morning and picked some cucumbers and dug some potatoes while Marj. was busy in the house. Late this after noon Harry B. and I walked over to see how poor old Mr. Lampkin was feeling. He is still very stiff and sore but thought he was better
