Thursday September 3rd

We all went down town this morning and spent the day at Aunty's Dad. & I bailed out the old well at the Shanty door and they think when it fills again they will be able to use the water Quint was there for dinner and he helped us after dinner for awhile. Marj. went up town and got orders for some crab apples. Dad. & I also patched up the barn bridge a little. I went down to Carl. Ryerse's after dinner with Quint and blew in 30 cts. on a corn cob pipe and a package of tobacco so that I can now appease my occasional hankering for a smoke. Marj. went over to the Lampkin's for awhile to-night and I had to prance with the baby nearly the whole time she was gone. Cloudy this morning clearing & sultry this after noon.

Friday September 4th

I went down to Sid's this morning and got Queen shod I was there till noon as there were two others ahead of me This afternoon I finished cleaning out another row of strawberries and hoed out some of the couch grass in the summer fallow. Marj. did up tomatoes. Very hot & dry

Saturday September 5th

I swept the school house forst thing this morning and soent most of the remainder of the day hoeing strawberries finishing the job about four o'clock. I then picked some crab apples at at her suggestion Marj. & Harry B took them down and delivered them to Mesdames Marr & Gilbert, who ordered them the other day. Hary B got out and knocked at the doors so that Marj. didn't have to tie Queen up. Gay and I wasjed uo the dinner dishes cleamned up the kitchen and amused the baby and were down at the mailbox when Marj. & H.B. drove home. An otherwiose hapoy day was somewhat marred by Wilie Sgand bringing us a telephone message from Mrs. Smythe inviting us to their cottage for dinner to-morrow. Cloudy & cool most of ther day.
