| − | I | + | I spent nearly all day getting some stuff ready for the Horticultural Show and about five o'clock took down a buggy load of squash, a basket each of crab apples and pears and 1 watermelon. I didn't get them entered till about seven o'clock and as I went up town after some bread and took Cousin Phoebe a few crab apples and called in at Aunty's and at the farm it was late when I got home. I had tea and then as the cows were all in the door yard I milked about ten o'clock. Harry B's cold is still bad and to-night the baby is quite sick, she hasn't been able to keep her food down and Marj. is worried about them both. Beautiful day, fine and cooler. |

to paint as if they werent the letters would pale into illegible streaks when they were blown up, and as it is if they aren't kept with the air in them, when they collapse the paint shrivels and falls off. I didn't do much this after noon but rock Harry B who has a very bad cough and help Marj. wash the dishes, she spent the morning making cookies. I intended going down to help them get the rink in shape for the Horticultural Show but the rain prevented me. I went over to the school house about five and swept. I nailed the porch door up to-night as I had to get up three times last night to chase the cows away from it.
Sunday September 13th
It has rained all day till about four o clock. We have done nothing but sit around and for the most part try to amuse Harry B to keep him in bed as Marj. is worried about his cough and ulcerated throat He seems to feel pretty well and rebels at staying in bed but the air is so damp and raw. Marj. insisted on me telephoning the doctor about four but he said he had ashma too badly to come out so I hooked up and went in and he gave me some pills for Harry B. I didn't get home till after dark and as it was spitting rain again I didn't hunt for the cows.
