Thursday September 17th

Dad. Frank and Aunty Alice all came over this morning with Tupper's flat rack to haul corn. I had a road cut through but as the dew was very heavy and as they had to go to the mill besides in to Tupper's for his rack, it was late in the forenoon before we got started and we worked till after noon putting on the load, so they stayed to dinner much against Aunty Alice's approval as they had told Enah they would be back for dinner. Ina was here too washing, so Marj. had quite a party. We all three went down to the factory with the corn but had to wait for some time to unload as things are jammed full down there. It is certainly a busy place just now. I walked home through {Con's?} and talked to him for awhile so that it was about six when I got home. I drove Ina home about nine o clock.

Friday September 18th

There was a heavy thunder storm early this morning so that every thing was too wet to do much to-day. Sam & Alan were thrashing over at Dove's this morning so I went over to see if he needed any more help but there were plenty of men. He tried to induce me to help Tom Aikens build the stack but it was a very dirty

looking job so I told him I was afraid there wasn't room for more than one on the stack, which was true. I stuck around for awhile and then came home and spent the forenoon painting balloons for Mabel Frank came over after Aunty Alice's rubbers and stayed to dinner. We decided to go to town this afternoon as we had 14 dozen eggs to take down so we sent Frank over to the Lampkins to find out if she could keep Harry B & the baby for us and to signal us if she couldn't We drobve in about three to fnd Frank, Trum. Walker and Bert all gathered to perfpoen te last sa drites for poor old Florrie. She had just died from a wound she gave herself the other dsay wehen she got caught in the fence. Mrs. Lampkin felt very badly as they had raise dher and she wa sover twenty. We left the two kids and went down and did our trading and left Gay at the farm. Ot Collins was there taking the foems off the trough. Enah wa sick with a cold. Archie McEwen had just been there with a French canadian and bought the ram lambs for $16.00 apiece.
