on nearly all the new part of the house. I walked down town to-night and got my hair cut and was measured for my new suit at Moses Fisher's. Partly cloudy, fair and cool. Mabel was in to tell us they got 1st prize on their parade to-day.

Sunday September 20th

I spent most of the day helping Marj. washing dishes and {Fly-Toxing?} flies. About four o clock we all drove down town as Marj. wanted to take Harry B to the doctor as his throat still looks sore and she is worried about him, he looks so peaky. The doctor wasn't home so we went up to the Smiths to see Nellie as she & Bill and all the kids are here. We left there a little before six and went back to the doctors but he was still away so we came straight home as it was getting chilly. It has been almost unbearably hot and sultry in spite of a very high west gale.

Monday September 21st

I met Trum. Walker on my way over to sweep the school this morning and he told me that Mabel had called up the Shand's to say that she wouldn't be here to-day as Mildred is off again and they had to take her away. Marj. said Saturday when they were in that she knew Mildred was not right and Mabel was worried about her Dad. & Frank came over and we finished pulling the second roadway of corn but only had 2280 on. I went down with them to the factory and we did think of putting on a load over home this after noon but Bond said they didn't want any more as they were hung up for cans. I had dinner over there and walked home this afternoon and cut the other two roads through my corn. Very cold north west wind to-day. We thought it would freeze to-night so Marj. & I went out after tea and picked the ripe tomatoes and put papers over the nasturtiums in the window boxes.

Tuesday September 22nd

Dad. & Frank came over this morning and we put on a lbig load of corn and took it over as far as the farm where wehad dinner. Dad. & I took it to the factory after dib=nner but there were severalloads ahead of us so by the timem we got home it wa after four. Frank had cut a roadway and pulle dover some there but we thought to to late to take it dowen and they are so fille dup f=down there that they don't want it in too fast. It didn't freeze last nihgt but feels like it to-night. Fine but very cool.
