I levelled down more earth this morning but we had an early dinner and all went down town after noon. Marj. wanted to take Harry B to the doctor again for him to look at his throat and she anted to get some groceries. We were diappointed again though in seeing the doctor a she was away and he entirel yforgot about the fact that this was Dover's civic holiday, so all the stores were closed. Marj. was able to get into the drug-store and Billy Langs, who thinks that anothe rholiday at this time of year after all the hoidays there have been diring the summer is a farce. We went down to {word covered up} for awhile and came home about four. Fine but cols wind.

the gully. It was after noon before we got back and I let the cows out. They didn't come near the orchard all after noon. I sat around and read Herbert Spencer all the remainder of the day and didn't go to sleep in spite of the lack of moisture in my reading matter I felt rather tough around noon so Marj. didnt have dinner and we had a combination meal about four after which I felt better, shaved & milked. Cloudy & cold all day. Raining hard to-night.
