I went over home as soon as I could which wasn't very early and on my way I took Harry B & Gay over to the Lampkins and Marj. went over later with the baby and stayed all after noon. Dad. & I went down to the box factory and got on a waggon load of ends and edgings. There is an enormous pile there that the boss told Dad. he could have for $10.00 and it looks to be worth the money. We had dinner over there Enah was down at her mother's who is in bad shape. We got out here with our load about three o'clock and after we put it off I harnessed Queen and went over to Dave's. We got a fair load of hay on but didn't quite clean the field so I left Queen there all night and told him I would be back in the morning. I then helped Marj. bring the children home by putting Gay in the buggy with the baby. They took some pushing up the hill. Fine day and much milder but east wind.

Saturday October 24th

I went over to Dave's this morning and helped him get the load off, he had half of it off alone, and we got {the?} rest of it in and pitched off. We also went over to Cam's and got a ladder that Cam. gave him. What he is going to do with it I don't know because he can't climb {word obscured} the only way he can elevate himself is to pull him{self?} up as he cant seem to lift his one foot at all, and {word obscured} to me dangerous for him to try to get off the ground. {word obscured} home about eleven and as we didn't have dinner {word obscured} I got about four bushels of Spys picked, there are {four?} or five bushels more on the tree and some of {word obscured} nice ones. It was raining by that time and ha{s} {word obscured} hard ever since. I helped Marj. wash the dishes {word obscured} dinner and then got mad at her because she {word obscured} at me so while I was trying to read so I went {word obscured} to the school-house and swept out.
