{Tuesd}ay October 27th

{Trum?} Walker came in this morning to ask me if I {word obscured} {thrash?} for him to-day if he needed me. I told {word obscured} so young John came in to tell me to go over {word obscured} and Trum told me he had told George {word obscured} to tell me not to come so I came home again {word obscured} apples the rest of the day and got all my {word obscured}{p}icked about 12 bushels tree-run and some {word obscured} and some nice looking apples that {I don't?} {k}now the name of. Fine day but cool wind.

{Wednes}day October 28th

{It beg?}an to snow about day break this morning and {word obscured} up till after noon. It then partly cleared up but {word obscured} cold and is freezing hard to-night. The landscape {word obscured} a wintry aspect with all the beauty of fresh snow {word obscured} trees with the added colouring of the red green {word obscured} brown oak & beech leaves and a few yellow maples {word obscured} have not dropped yet; which with the after noon sun {word obscured} on and through it gave a picturesque effect that {word obscured} description. I spent the whole day cleaning and {word obscured} the storm windows. I took them down cellar to do. {word obscured} McDonald was in to-night to see if the road cheques had come yet and told me that he heard that {word obscured} had seen Dave & Kelly on the road and that their {gravel?} boxes wouldn't hold a yard of gravel and they {word obscured} supposed to draw 1 1/4 yds at a trip. Some say Tup{per?} {word obscured} the new foreman but Bill said he wasn't yet but they wan{ted?} {word obscured}

Thursday October 29th

As I hadn't heard anything from home since Monday {word obscured} to go over this morning to see if they were going to thrash {word obscured} so what arrangements we could make about votin{g} just as I was ready to start Jack & Albert McB{ride?} {word obscured} in with Dad. & Frank headed for the polls. Jack offer{ed?} {word obscured} the kids while Marj. went out and voted and Marj. {word obscured} surprise consented, so we four went with Albert {word obscured} marked our ballots for Stansell. There were {word obscured} voters out at Wiggin's so we weren't long gone {word obscured} been very successful with the children {word obscured} sober so drove carefully. Dad. told us {word obscured} died on Tuesday and was to be buried this after noon {word obscured} up my former plan of going down this fore noon after the storm windows and some groceries but thought I could get them this afternoon when I went to the funeral. It turned out a nice sunny day and Marj. said if Mrs. Lampkins was
