This has been a beautiful genuine Indian Summer day. It froze quite hard last night but has been mild and sunny to-day, with a hazy smoky air.

We all went for a walk in the gully this morn{ing} and Harry B & Gay had a fine time throwing {word obscured} in the water although Marj. nearly fainted every ti{me} {word obscured} went close enough to the creek to do it. {Saturday} October 31st
