to church and we watched and waited will 11 o'clock and no sign of him so we were just going to walk over to the Lampkin's and accept a second invitation to dinner there when Mr. Bagley came along. We left Gay & the baby in Mrs. Bagley's care & Marj. Harry B and I went to church. We were pretty late but maybe it was just as well On H. B's account although he was as quiet as a mouse. It was children's service We went back to the Bagley's for dinner and were there for the after noon. I was very much afraid the kids would tear the house down before we got away as they were excited and in a terribly boisterous mood. Every thing is so spick & span and orderly around there that their rough treatment goes hard with it. Aunty came up for a while after dinner as she saw us in church and wanted to bring me some things for Marj's birthday, but had a hard time delivering them without Marj. discovering it. Mr. & Mrs. Bagley went to old Mrs. Whalen's funeral up at St. John's this after noon but as they were too late for the ceremony were not gone long. Belle Smith came over and spent the afternoon with us and seemed to enjoy the kids antics. Essie was in a good humour, so things went pretty well. Mr. & Mrs. Bagley came home with us before dark.
