Marj. and I both got up early this morning and had breakfast at seven o'clock I did all the chores by lantern light and struck out for Lindsay's bridge about half past seven. The sun was just rising as I walked up the road and I have seldom seen a prettier sun-rise. The sun itself only appeared for a few minutes and then disappeared, a dull lustreless crimson globe, behind dense clouds, but the sky above this cloud mass was beautifully and delicately tinted and against this floated several slender graceful clouds long and yet not mere streaks.
