It snowed five or six inches during the night but didn't freeze hard enough beneath it to make sleighing. I went over to the school house in good time and shovelled the snow and waited till after eight to see if Art. Quanbury came along to work at the bridge, but as he didn't I decided he thought the weather too bad and so I came home and made a storm door for the porch. This after noon I drove down town and settled up at the Canning Factory. My corn & peas to-gether ammounted to $110.99 but by the time seed and a load of silage I got last winter was deducted my cheque was $89.64. I went up town and paid my taxes and got some condensed milk and some hinges & latches for the new storm doors, also a pane of glass to put in the one on the porch. I was in at Billy Langs for over an hour as old Billy was in a talkative mood, so by the time I stopped in at Aunty's & the farm it was dark when I got home. I met Art Quanbury on the road and he asked me about going to work on the bridge to-morrow but I told him he had better get Dave or someone else Dad. had another bunch of letters from Mr. Park, in one he thought the case might be decided before Dad. got the letters then he found out that there was a case on the 9th and another on the 18th to be tried first and he didn't know how long they would last. Cloudy, raw. Roads very bad.

not have thought that his good sense would have let it carry him so far. I haven't the least doubt about his honesty nor has Robb I think but he has one of these machines for measuring gasoline and it may be out of kilter. It is too bad to have a thing like that mar the peaceful & neighborly relations of the Marburg community, especially just before Christmas. I didn't do much this afternoon but let a little more water off the cornfield when it stopped raining. Very mild
