It snowed all night by the looks of things for this morning every thing was covered not only outdoors but in the porch & the barn and where ever the east wind could penetrate. It snowed most of the morning but hasn't been a bad day. I thought of going down to Archie Lang's farm to look at some cheap hay he has stacked but as it snowed so much I didn't go. I spent the fore noon doing odd jobs and sweeping paths, and helping Marj. wash some flannels which is a terribly particular job, and requires a vast ammount of knowledge & experience.

Marj. supplies that part all I do is run the squsher. We sat around for an hour or two after dinner readin Bleak Housen and then I went over and swept the school bouse nand swept the snow off the steps as I tjought it=f it should get a little soft and then stcik to the cement ~i would have abad job.I was over there till nearly dark.

Saturday January 9th
