it and the second one unloaded so we were only able to get three loads hauled but the last one we unloaded in short time as it was on the second tier in the ice house and there was no frozen sawdust at the edge to bind it. It was blustery this morning but has been getting milder all day and has been cloudy and almost raining. I started to walk home to-night as I was afraid I could not get in the lane with the cutter it was drifting so badly this morning. I got a ride home with the Tom Stones. Dad. doesn't feel much better.
Sunday February 7th
We were very late getting up this morning so as usual we didn't have any mid-day meal. I did up the chores and swept out the school house and about half past two we packed Gay & the baby in the hand sleigh that the Cornishs gave us and went over to the Lampkins. I pushed the sleigh and Marj. and Harry B. walked. I left them there and went on over to Trum Walker's and got the milk, then came back to the Lampkins. We came home about five in time for me to do up the chores before dark. It turned colder but has been a nice day, with north-west breeze.
Monday February 8th
I started to walk over home this morning but got a ride part way with Billy Mason. Frank had gone down after his first load of ice when I got there and he got one more before dinner. Quint came over to help us. I went down town right after dinner as I had to go to the dentist's this after noon but Quint & Frank got two more loads in and only need one more to fill the ice house. The dentist filled another tooth for me and changed the filling in the first one. He decided it was the one that was making my face swell and says it may have to come out yet. I drove Queen home to-night and got in by driving over the wheat and missing the lane. I am to take Harry B down tomorrow to visit Auntie & Aunty Alice for a day or two. Mabel was over here when I got home getting Marj. to show her how to make valentine's. Miss Morgan died early yesterday morning and is to be buried at ten o'clock tomorrow morning. Walker Waddle is to be buried in the after noon. He died Saturday. East wind, fairly cold but nice day.
