have seen muskrat tracks leading from a hole in the ice off the creek up to the barn and back again. Very mild all day but raw south west wind this morning I saw Ed. Austin down at the Ryerse's this morning, he says it is 18 years since he left here.

Thursday February 18th

I walked over home this morning to get Queen. Frank had a small jag of straw on the rack and I helped him put it off in the horse stable loft. I then drove down and got Aunty & Aunty Alice first going up town and trading a couple of dozen eggs for some coffee & sugar. I also drew five dollars from my account to pay for the potatoes I got at Art Ryerses and to pay Trum Walker for milk. I got out here with Aunty & Aunty Alice a little before noon. We had a nice visit this after noon and I drove them back about five o'clock. It snowed a little during the night and has been very cloudy & half raining all day but turned to snow this after noon & was snowing hard & fast when we went into town with an east wind. Mabel came over to spend the night on account of the storm. I saw the muskrat two or three times to-day and was able to get very close to him.

Friday February 19th

Things were pretty well snowed up this morning and it drifted a little but there is a better covering of snow on every thing that has has been at all I think. I spentthe foree noon doing chores and mowinf the hay back over the cows, first taking what little alfalfa off the rails and throwijng it down to have for feeding the calf. This afternoon I drove over and oaid Art Ryerse 1.75 for the bag of potatoes I got they are selling for $2.00 a bushel at the stores and then Jnas went woith me over to Colin's barn and after a wild chase around the basement he capotured the Leghorn cockrel for me. He has been down therev living on the fat of the land ever since the day he escaped from us &Colin picked him out of a brushpile on the sid eroad so he was in good cshape. I called on at the farm for awhile and then went over to Jacks with the cockre. It went on down town to post a letter so Chris gave me an arm fully of chicken catalogues to post for them. The post office floor was covered with mailbags and Alice Miller said that the Eaton Calatologues were in. I met Ina at the gate strtaing for home so I turned around and drove her home. The Dramatic Club are going to Selkirk in the big Dover Transport Trek tpopiut on theirn play. Sunny but coldnorth west wind.
