Saturday February 20th

We were late getting up this morning and by the time I got a few chores done, it was nearly noon when I got over home to help Frank bag up some more oats for Jack Martin. I took Harry B & Gay with me and they had a fine time as Tim played with them all day. He is certainly good to them. Dad. was out at the barn and Frank had not got home yet from Selkirk. Tim went down to the Coleman's this morning and found that some of the party had telephoned up saying they would have to stay all night as there was a spring broken in the truck. Frank got home about the middle of the after noon. He said they didn't get down there till ten o'clock last night but put on the play before a big house finishing up after midnight. The players stayed all night in the hall. He said the roads weren't bad till after they left the highway at Nellles' Corners. I helped Dad nail up some wire to keep the stock away from the straw stack but didn't do any thing else all day, except sit around and read. We came home about five o'clock and I swept the school house before dark. Marj. has had a busy day recovering the old armchair and she has not felt at all well either. Cloudy with fine snow all day.
