Saturday February 20th | Saturday February 20th | ||
| − | We were late getting up this morning and by the time I got a few chores done, it was nearly noon when I got over home to help Frank bag up some more oats for Jack Martin. I took Harry B & Gay with me and they had a fine time as Tim played with them all day. He is certainly good to them. Dad. was out at the barn and Frank had not got home yet from Selkirk. Tim went down to the Coleman's this morning and found that some of the party had telephoned up saying they would have to stay all night as there was a spring broken in the truck. Frank got home about the middle of the after noon. He said they didn't get down there till ten o'clock last night but put on the play before a big house finishing up after midnight. The players stayed all night in the hall. I helped Dad nail up some wire to keep the stock away from the straw stack but didn't do any thing else all day, except sit around and read. We came home about five o'clock and I swept the school house before dark. Marj. has had a busy day recovering the old armchair and she has not felt at all well either. Cloudy with fine snow all day. |

Harry B and Gay had quite a time getting acquainted with the new dog over there as he is a big Boston bull pup and very playful. Cory went at him with a club and made him behave, exclaiming "My Gosh. He wouldn't hurt them, but he's just a great big silly thats what he is and just wants to kiss "em. He's just too saff for any thing." Charlie had to build a wood box with a lid on it to keep him from chewing up the wood as Cory says he is teething and has to have something to chew on. Charlie is still manufacturing furniture in his spare time and has the house full of little tables, stands and hall trees with underpinning heavy enough for a grand piano. He has a set of bob sleighs under construction now for the Munroe kids and if they can lug them up hill without the aid of a horse they will do well. Cold and raw east wind all day, cloudy. |
