Thursday March 18th

I had to be at the dentist's at 1.15 to-day so went down to Aunty's for dinner. I went over to the farm this morning to see if I could get a load of straw on the rack and then haul it out here this afternoon. Dad. wanted to get some cornstalks in before we changed the rack from the sleighs to the wheels so we went out and got a jag of them and by the time we got up to the house, it was time for me to leave so that I could get to Aunty's for dinner. I went to the dentists and had another pyorrhea treatment and he found another cavity which he filled.

By the time I got back to the farm it was too late to put on a load of straw but we changed the rack and i got. abag of oats to take home. Dad. had a letter from mr. parks enclosing an opinion of Gavin Simmonds which Roper & Whatley had let him have, saying that she they should get privyof the feath of the doctor & nurse who attended Mrs. Dick and then less reliable sources of evidence whould be admitted to prove that her baby ha da separate existence. If that culd be proved Capt. Dick as next of kin of his son would in Gavin's opinion be able to include all the property except the real estate in his residuary estate and consequently it would go to Mrs.
