there were too many of the Right Heirs for it to be divided among but that they might be tempted by an offer of £50,000 which Mr. Farwell said was out of the question. Simmonds said further that he would fight it to the House of Lords if necessary. Dick is of the opinion that it is all crooked work and would like to them do their "durnbest" but we all agreed that it would be better to settle with them even for £50,000 than to have them appeal the case and cause indefinite delay. Of course they have yet to prove that the child was born alive and if they fail to do that will have no basis for a claim. Mr. Parks thinks their chances are slim even if they do prove a separate existence, as he is of the opinion and so are the other counsels that the judge will declare the property all realty, he also thinks that the fact that the birth of the child was never registered will go much against them but he thinks it would be better to settle than have the uncertainty of them appealing although he thinks that is a bluff.
