time. Roy couldn't let me have eggs as he is saving for himself but he called up Clarence Welsh and found I could get them there. Cloudy & cold. Froze & snowed last night.

Wednesday March 31st

We woke up this mornng to find every thing coated thick with ice and a cold rain falling forming more. It has rained all day but turned a little milder during the day and most of the ice has disappeared. I couldn't do any thing outdoors but chores so helped Marj. in the house and did some painting in the kitchen. The storm must have delayed the cars as we got no mail to-day. We both have bad colds.

Thursday April 1st

It was snowing this mornng and has been blowing a fine blizzard all day. I walked into town as we were out of butter and I got my eggs that I left at Chris's the other day and took them to town and sold them. I then walked home carrying the crate with groceries in it. The roads were heavy and the blizzard was blinding between Art Quanbury's & Evans so I had an enjoyable walk getting home about half past one. I didnt do much but chores the rest of the after noon. The papers to-day tell of great havoc being done by yesterdays ice storm especially to the hydro and telephone & telegraph lines. The power was off in town and people who depended on hydro for light had to go to bed with candles.

Friday April 2nd - Good Friday.

This has been a foine day and but not much milder and the change in rtheweathewr was. ot welcome after what we have had lately. I soent. acouple of hours this morning sawing up and slpitting the maple tree that I cut the other day and Harry B and I carried it all into the porch. I didn't do much this after noon but rrimme dup some of the beech tree I cut down.
