o'clock and Marj. didn't get up till nearly that time. I went down to Donald's and found Ina just at her breakfast. I got 12 doz. eggs there and then went down to Welsh's and got 8½ doz. The roads down that way were enough to make a strong man quail so by the time I got back to Chris's it was after noon. Art hadn't brought his eggs in yet so Mrs. Quanbury said they would wait till he came to set them. He is going to take in 15 doz which will make 70 doz all told. I had been figuring on 80 doz. but that was all the space they saved for me, and unless they hatch better than they have been I won't get my 500 chicks. It was about two o'clock by the time I got to the farm and I put Queen in and went in as I was wet cold & hungry. They had had dinner of course but Enah got me some and I stayed there most of the after noon and got warmed up. Ina was here when I got home & she & Marj. have started on the house cleaning, she is going to stay till Saturday night. It cleared up towards evening. Cold.

Friday April 9th

I went over home this morning intending to go down and get a load of coal for Dad. and then going down to George Hammond's for a load of hay. Frank and I went down before dinner to get the coal but we didn't get it unloaded till after dinner and it was then too late to start out for hay so we put side boards on the waggon box and I took enough from there to last me over Sunday. I was just out and they wont have any more than they need and will probably have to buy. Ina has been here all day washing & house cleaning. Milder to-day

Saturday April 10th

It was such a nice bright day and warm that I started in to finish shingling the woodshed. I was at it all fore noon and got the north side done but the wind had got so strong by then that I couldn't hang on to my shingles so I didn't do any more but spent the after noon cleaning up a little around the yard and putting the manure out of last year's hot bed on the rhubarb, but the hens promptly scratched it off. I drove Ina home to-night.

Sunday April 11th

Mrs. Lampkin invited us to leave the baby with her this morning, go to church and once back there to dinner
