I went back with Dad. & brought Queen home. Dad. didn't have a bite to eat as he said he couldn't eat with his teeth out anyway I had a couple of sandwichs. I walked back to band practice to-night. Mid. has to be away for awhile now settling up Minnie's affairs so they propose getting Ernie {Knight?} down for leader if he will come. There have been a chapter of sad happenings lately. Tom Reynold's little 3 year old daughter sat in a pail of scalding water & was so badly burned that she died. Alan Law's sister died of heart failure leaving five children and to-day word came that Holbe's daughter who was married last fall, her husband and a friend were killed when a train struck their car. Sunny but bitter north wind all day Freezing to-night.

Monday Tuesday April 20th

I soent an hour or two this morning burning the grass on the side hill next the school house & in the little timothy flats. I then killed all the rooders on the place which was five inclusing one that I lent Dad. awhile ago and brought home Saturday. They were not very fat but I thought it was no use
