ever afford to buy. I tried to put some tar on the colony house roof but it was cloudy and to cold to work properly. I walked down to the corner to-night and got my cream can which has been there since yesterday. I took some of Marj's rolls to Mrs. Lampkin but they were over at the Evans and Miss McBride was there. Cloudy all day but mild, showery to-night.

Friday April 30th

I had hoped to get away this morning for a load of coal but it was drizzling after breakfast and showery all morning so I didn't get away till after dinner. Mary had a red bull calf first thing this morning down in the gully and if it had been a nice day I would have left them there all day but when it rained I carried the calf up to the shed and to-night I tied it up in the alley way in front of Mary. I had thought of vealing both calves but the kids especially Harry B. seem to like them so I guess I will raise Mary's. When I got over home after dinner there was no one home so I took old Charlie & Queen & the waggon and wen down for my coal. I got about half a ton and then went up to Bill Laing's and got a lot of feed for my chickens.

I will have to get the baby chicks to-morrow. After I unloaded my coal in the new coal bin I threw on all the old wire and a lot of old tins that wewre kicking around and took them down to the marsh so it mad eme late for getting home and after dark when I fodid the chores. Tupper ^7 Art were working on the road and Tupper told me to dump the rubbish at the corner as long as I threw it on the east sid eof the road so it wouldn't wash into the culvert and as every one else throws rubbish there I night as well ave, but I hate the look of iot so I denounce every one else for doing it that I wouldn't do it although it did make me late goig down town with it. Dad. has had four letters from Mr. Parks this week none with important news in the, He is still vewry hopeeful of the outcome on the 5th. He has seen Mr.Gover. Harry B's counsel and says he won't fight very hard agpanst Dad. and is of the sam eopinion as the rest of them about theproperryy being realty. Mrs. Dickhas not yet made her affadavit concerning the child and she too is on Dad's side and wants to get even the heirlooms.

Saturday May 1st
