Friday June 4th Dad. brought the spreader over and we covered the corn ground putting it 8 loads to the acre, and we didn't use quite all there was in the yard. Saturday 5th I went over to Dave's with Queen and got his Dock and sowed his oats & harrowed them in for him. I sowed them by hand and as I never tried the job before and as the ground was rough I am afraid I made a poor job of it but it is so dry I don't think they will come anyway. In the after noon I brought Dock over here and with him and Queen rolled my peas and disked the manure into the corn ground. I also rolled the summer fallow which I have decided to do with the side hill facing the school house. Sunday June 6 has long since past so I will have to continue in the same manner, the Bagley's were all out for dinner that day, and it rained a little. Monday 7th I went back over to Daves and with Queen & Doc. rolled his oats & harrowed them again and then came over here & harrowed & rolled my corn ground. Tuesday 8th I went over to help Frank plant his corn but it was such a rainy after noon we didn't finish. Not much rain fell but ever now and then a sharp shower would make us hunt shelter. We sought it twice at Pickford's and the first time he came back with us but it was too wet after the next shower. Dad. came out here to mark out my field but didn't finish owing to the rain. I went over to Mrs. Quanbury's and as she had 700 & she was very anxious to put out I borrowed it.
