| − | I have been too busy during the daytime and too dead tired at night to write and I can't remember the daily happenings of the last three weeks. The weather is still cool and dry although we had a couple of good rains. I have cultivated my corn one way once but it is growing very slowly. We got the garden in but nothing is up yet except some corn & potatoes and the chickens are ruining it. I can't keep the little divils out. They are growing fast and are too big to go through the fence but they can now fly over it. I had Cecil & Frank over here for three days last week and we shingled the north side of the barn roof a job which it is a great relief to have done as it was in very bad shape. | + | I have been too busy during the daytime and too dead tired at night to write and I can't remember the daily happenings of the last three weeks. it and wrote a card to Frank Reid to say I wouldn't need to get any from him. It looks as though this fortune was gradually fading from our ken. They finished the argument on June 2nd but the judge has reserved his decision for a week or so which looks as if he was not at all convinced that Dad's claim was good. Wednesday 9th Frank came over this morning before I finished marking out the corn ground and started planting and we finished about four o'clock. Thursday 10th Marj. & I went down in the afternoon and signed the mortgage at Gibsons and Charlie Quanbury met us there with the money. I spent the rest of the after noon paying debts.
