feet, they have hurt her so much lately. He prescribed some sort of support which she ordered and told her she had been wearing shoes that were too short. Winnie Shand was here when I came home but didn't stay long, she came over for a couple of cans of dextri maltose for her baby. Marj. told her she had a couple of cans on hand to dispose of. I drove Marj. over to the farm & Enah went on down town with her while I cocked hay till she got back. Enah stayed down to go to choir practice to-night. Dave's cows had been in on my alfalfa to-day & poor old Dave had hobbled over to tell Marj. & was rather peeved so I fixed the fence after I got home to-night which made me pretty late getting through.

Saturday July 3rd

I got the mower out to cut the alfalfa this morning but as the seat was gone and I couldn't get the old seat ready without taking it to Evan's Marj. decided she had better go to town this morning instead of this after noon and she took the seat down to Evan's for me. She took down about a dozen boxes of strawberries which she had picked and sold them for 18 cts per box. I cut some seed potatoes while she was gone and cut the alfalfa this after noon. To-night Marj. dropped the potatoes that I cut and I hoed some of them in.

Sunday July 4th

We did a few odd jobs this morning and then all snoozed till about four o'clock when we drove over to the farm for awhile. Aunty was over there We read the account of the fortune in The Globe which gave a much greater space to it than the Mail & Empire. Warm and dry quite windy
