I took a little walk before breakfast and Harry B & Donny had quite a romp together in Clara's little backyard. Her young Scotch maid was delighted with the "bonny wee kids" We were all up in plenty of time but dawdled a little too long over our breakfast and then had an awful scramble to catch the Haliburton train which left at 7.45. Clara drove us right down to the tracks as we thought we would save time but we had to climb through between two other trains to get our own and just got on board as she pulled out. I hadn't time to say goodbye properly and to pick out a decent seat but had to jump while they were on the move. I went back through the station to the street and after some little time found Clara to tell her they were off safely. She had had trouble finding a place to park her car. I was too late to get a train back home via Hamilton but had just time to get the fast train to Brantford. I was about an hour there getting into Dover on the noon radial. Quint met me and drove me up to Aunty's where I had dinner and waited till Dad. Enah & Tim came down. Mr. Barwell drove them down and took them up town to get their tickets from Gibbie, fortunately they came at the last minute and they had a letter from Dick saying he had no trouble getting the passports. All of us but Aunty & Aunty Alice went to the station to see them off & there was quite a crowd there. I think most of the town has said goodbye in the last day or two. The good old burg seems to be more delighted over Dad's prospects than we do. We still feel as if we would wake up and find out it isn't true, and rosy as the future looks we couldn't help feeling a little heavy hearted to see them going so far away. It is the first big change to be made in our peaceful life and no matter what time has in store for us it can't discount the good

and visited with Clara for a short time. {Bud?} is away before going to bed. Beautiful day. It is a rather depressing sight the condition of the farms along the track, field after field of oats in shock and very few in, any amount of alfalfa standing in cock badly weathered, and most of the summer fallows green & untouched. I only noticed one field sowed.
