It was noon before I got away with the chickens and I came back over here and had lunch then on down town and shipped the chickens. The mail came while I was here and there were letters from Dad. & Enah written on the boat and sent ashore with the pilot of Father point. I went back out home and although it was four o'clock when i got there I cut my alfalfa. It tool me till dusk and I didn't get back here till after dark. frank had every thing done but the milking. he left as soon as he helped me separate so i had tea in solitary grandeur but he had provided a good one for me. Fine and cool.

Sid McBride took Frank and me out to vote this morning first thing. We picked up the John Evans on our way and out and coming back went in to get Art Quanbury He demurred so Frank and I offered to throw on a load of manure for him while we was away, but they were gone for so long that it was nearly noon when we got home. We hauled in two loads of alfalfa this after noon. To-night Pickford and Bob. came down and we went down to hear the returns. They were being posted up in Pat's drugstore window as they came in and were any thing but encouraging for us Tories. They were very incomplete when we left but it looked as if we had lost a good many Ontario and Maritime seats and gained nothing in Quebec. Meighen was way behing his opponent in Portage-la-Prairie and King had an easy victory in Prince Albert. Dover gave Stansell a majority and they thought when we left he was elected by a small majority. We fell in with Cecil down there and waited till about 11 o'clock for Gibbie to show up as we were going to get him to drive us over but he didn't come so we walked over leaving a note on his car to come over. He arrived after midnight. The scene that followed after we got here was to disgraceful to describe in writing and I am afraid I was the biggest fool of the crowd. We had lots to drink and I took more than I figured on. We caroused around till about two o'clock and then Pickford fell out the back door and hit his head, so Frank and Cecil put him to bed. Gibbie got sick and I went to sleep on the sofa. Gibbie Frank and Cecil took Bob. home in Gibbie's car. Gibbie started to drive but Cecil had to take the wheel to keep them out of the ditch. When they got back Cecil and Frank went to bed in Tim's bed and Gibbie curled up in his car where he spent the night. Raining to-night
