Pickford woke the household this morning running around calling "Lily, Lily, is it time to get up yet." so the rest of us got up and I managed to wobble back and get the cows up and milk but was no good for any thing else. I felt awful tough and repentant, couldn't eat and finally went back to bed. Cecil took Gibbie home and put him to bed and then came back here with the car and he and Frank went down to Bob {Leiths?} and got some jacks to jack up the barn down at Aunty's and Frank stayed down till about one o'clock and got his hair cut Cecil & Frank kept in good shape all through the performance and this morning straightened up the house so that there was no sign of any irregularity. Aunty Alice said she was going to come over but as it poured rain all morning we didn't expect her, however she came and found me in bed and Frank away. She got dinner for us and was here most of the after noon Frank took her home about four o'clock. I felt better this after noon and ate a good supper. We heard great honking of horns & shooting of guns this after noon so Frank and I started to drive down to see what was going on and found it was a Liberal parade. Just as we got to the corner the van-guard of it had stopped in front of Jack Martin's to make life miserable for him for a few minutes. They have cause for rejoicing as to-day's papers give King a working majority and the latest reports are that Taylor defeated Stansell in Norfolk-Elgin. Frank went for a drive to-night and I snoozed on the sofa while he was gone and finished a letter I started to Marj. this after noon, after Frank came home. Rotten day warm.
