Thursday September 23rd
Too wet to do any thing to-day. Frank and George went up to Simcoe Fair in the rain this after noon but I went to sleep instead. They rented a Ford car up there for $10 till after Sunday. Intended going down to Dr. McLaclan's to hear the Dempsey-Tunney fight come over the radio but it poured rain so we stayed home.
Friday September 24th
Frank and George put up the stove pipe on the inside kitchen stove this morning and I went over to Martin's to borrow the snips for them. I went down to Quanbury's to hear the fight returns. Tunney won on points without a knock out. Just 10 rounds. We hooked up to haul alfalfa this after noon but had to put the team back on account of rain. I had to strip part way and wade for cows to-night.
Saturday September 25th
This was a dismal day as dogs got in last night and played havoc with the sheep killing and wounding about a dozen. Will McNielly came up and valued them and I went down to the council with him this after noon. We will get $280.00 for them. Pickford dressed 3. Cold & rainy all day.
Sunday September 26th
We all three went to church this morning and up to Win's for dinner. This after noon George drove us out to my place and Cecil and I went in and figured on a few jobs there while George took Win & the kids for a drive in the rented car. He had hoped to be driving Ada around in it to-day but she went to London instead of coming to Dover.
Monday September 27th
George and I were at Art. Quanbury's thrashing to-day we started a little before noon and finished a little after so didn't get much else done. Frank took the car back to Simcoe and came home on the radial. Cloudy & cool
Tuesday September 28th
We hauled the rotten alfalfa or some of it off the field and piled it back of the barn. It is no good for any thing but manure now. Quint brought Aunty and Aunty Alice over this after noon and they stayed all night. Cool.
Wednesday September 29th
Frank and I finished the alfalfa. George was sick all day. Quint came over to dinner and took Aunty & Aunty Alice home. Cloudy
