I went down in the waggon this morning to get some lake sand & cement for Frank Slocombe to fix the cistern and Frank drove Marj. & the kids down in the car for supplies. I wanted to get a load of coal but there was none. I got some roofing for the veranda and took my load out after dinner. George and Frank picked apples. Cecil & Co were working out at my place & have the veranda about finished. Long letter from Dad. Lovely day. Raining tonight.

George & Frank went to Simcoe this morning to return the car and took me out home on their way. We went down town first and I ordered lumber to finish up my chicken house. Cecil Quint & Avery out there. I picked apples. Sutor brought the lumber out in the after noon and got stuck in the lane & had to unload. George Mace set up a radio outfit at the farm this after noon for a demonstration. He is agent for them. Marj. & I went out to the school house to-night as Mabel was having a Hallowe'en concert and wanted Marj. for a witch. George & Frank herded the kids who were in bed when we left. We were very late as the concert was a long drawn out affair. All of Charlie Monroe's family were there Charlie has taken Mrs. Tupper's place on shares and has been over there ploughing

George Art. Quanbury & I spent the day fixing the cow stable roof and much to my surprise finished it and got the end nearly boarded in. Art only asked 35 cts an hour too. Cecil coaks me 60. and I don't think is a bit better workman. Frank went to Toronto to-day with Jack Walker. Jack has been at him to go before. Irene went down with them to hunt up a job. Frank got home late to-night with a nasty cold. The Bagleys went out to our place this afternoon to get some sweet apples and called in at the farm & took Marj. with them. Fine day, mild.
