Friday November 5th

This being Auntie Alice's birthday we celebrated over here and Quint brought Aunty and Aunty Alice over for dinner and to spend the after noon. Quint & Frank went down town again after dinner as Frank wanted to telephone McEwen about a ram. I had to go over to Proper's to thrash about the middle of the after noon. We thrashed his oats out and then they started on the buckwheat which Art Quanbury just finished cutting. Frank changed places with me then and I came home to help George milk. They had a cablegram from Dad. to-day saying they were leaving to-day for home.

Saturday November 6th

I went over home and took my lunch to-day and did several odd jobs took up the carrots & flower bulbs and piled up the mangolds and covered them there were only about a couple of wheelbarrow loads pulled. Frank went over to Proper's and finished thrashing. He & George did some odd jobs and cut some more corn. I met them at the top of the gully going after the cows when I came home bringing the cows with me. Fine day but rather cold wind.
