superfluous matter including the old armchair and old sofa up there. The attic which was next thing to useless before is now about the most useful place in the house. George and Frank trimmed up most of the ewes this morning and Frank cut corn this after noon while George celebrated Thanksgiving day by taking a holiday. Ada being home for the day.
Tuesday November 9th
Our fine weather came to an end as it rained nearly all day, and is getting colder to-night. Frank and George trimmed the ram lambs and did a few odd jobs while I chored around the house. Marj. and I went down town this after noon and left the family in charge of their uncles. Marj. did some shopping while I went down to the Custom's Office to tell them to be on the lookout for Dad's shipment of silverware, which will have to be taken directly to the Royal Bank vault. Huby was down on the same errand so I was saved the necessity of telling Mr. Quinn the man who is relieving Norman Holden for a couple of weeks. He said he had just cleared a rum runner for Eric. He was still in harbour load full of all kinds of choice booze.
