and saw Billy Mills about sending a man over to return threshing time and about 11 o'clock Milt Ried came over and this after noon Jonas Ryerse came up to return for the time Frank spent down there threshing so by to-night we had well over half the field cut. To-night Marj. & I walked down to the picture show which wasn't much good but we thought it would be our last chance for awhile. George went to a returned men's banquet at Henderson's to commerate Armistice Day and Frank spent the evening with a new Radio Set that Alan Wicker brought over.

Friday November 12th

It was still frozen this morning but has been getting steadily milder all day. Cloudy however with a raw south east wind. We finished the corn at 3 o'clock this after noon. Jonas & Milt came back and helped us and were here to dinner much to Marj's dismay as she had no meat on hand. When we finished the corn George & Frank went out and got a load of corn stalks on the rack and Marj. & I drove down town after provisions and took the kids with us. We left them with Aunty Alice while we went up town.
