This was Marj's birthday but we didn't celebrate it in any special way. Dad. sent her a cheque for $50.00 It was a very foggy morning and I couldn't see whether the engine was at the farm or not to thrash nd I didn't hear the whistle so about two o'clock walked over to see They were just getting set up as I got there. We threshed all day ans gad several stops, one of which was caused bu Phil Shaver throwing an old bag into the macj=hine and bending some of the teeth in the concave. Frank left for Toronto at noon. George and I looked after the grain. We got about 280. bus of oats and i got 21 bus of wheat from my jag. I didn't know how uch wheat they ahad as dad. advised me to leave for home befor ewit got dark and they weren't wuite fimished, but the wheat was rolling out pretty well & was a good sample. It snowed most of the after noon and was much milder to-night.

over to the farm to get my cider and as the roads were so hard I thought it a good chance to go down and get a load of coal. Dad. went down with me. The boys were thrashing at Pickfords. It was just noon when we got down town so we put the team in Aunty's barn & had dinner there. Dad & I walked up town to get some things right after dinner and then went after the coal. It was four o'clock by the time I got it and the cider unloaded out here, and then had to take the team back & walk home. Edna Quanbury was in to see Marj. this after noon and Mr. & Mrs. Shand & Flossie were all down to-night and spent the evening. The election results were a grand & glorious surprise to me and I think some sort of surprise to everyone. Jack was returned with over 1300 majority, the government returned with more seats that it had before, with most of the grits that ran on a G.C. ticket elected all the cabinet but one back. Nickle defeated and old Raney back with 44 maj.
