Tom came down with his team this morning and we took the old lane fence down and much to y surorise were able to plough the furrows down the south side of the old fence ridge. It was oretty rocky and hard to hold the plough in in spots, we couldn't plough any more as the horses couldn't walk on the ridge but we broke quite a length of the ridge down partlym woth the plow going crosswise at it and partly with the axe. | |||

Tuesday December 14th
We left Gay & the baby with Ina this morning and Marj. Harry B and I drove down town. Marj went up town for some Christmas buying and I walked over to Charlie Quanbury's and paid my interest on the mortgage. We had dinner at Aunty's at their urgent behest and came home soon after. Ina said Tom Stone had been here to help me with {lane} and said he would come again to-morrow but I don't think he can do any thing as it is frozen up solid again. I took the wire off the posts this after noon.
