Art came over and finished his cupboard to-day. I spent most of the forenoon tinkering around the barn. I carried up {illegible} rails from the road and covered over the stall that I am going to fix for the calves with rails and hay. This after noon I did chores worked a little at the chicken pen and then Joe & Lee Long came with a load of hay so I helped them put it off and by that time it was time to do night chores. We all went down town in the buggy this morning and Marj. finished (I hope) her Christmas shopping. We got home a little after noon. The Long boys came with another load of hay this after noon and just as we got it off Fred Misner came in with our pig. I worked for a very short time at the chicken house after Fred left before it was time to do the night chores. I went over to Daves just before tea to arrange about getting Doc. tomorrow afternoon. Tom Stone was just unloading a load of gravel in the lane as I came home. He hauled one this morning while we were down town. Very mild, rather dull but very pleasant air.

I drove down town in the buggy this morning and got Bill Laing to mix up my mash. I would have had him bag it but he got cold. I called in at the farm and got some instructions from Dad. on cutting up pigs. He drove down town with me. I came home to dinner and this after noon went over and got Doc. and Dave's waggon and went down and got my mash also a waggon & doll buggy and some other things that Santa Claus wanted me to bring over here for him. I got the Eaton bookcase and set it up to-night. Ina here to-day. Cloudy colder.

he didn't stay long. We then all drove over there and got a few potatoes and took Tim a birthday present for to-morrow. He & Frank were skating on the pond. Marj. spent the evening reading a detective story that she got for Dick and was then scared to go to bed. I sat up trying to draw a horses head that looked like Josie to embellish a couple of verses that Marj. composed to go on a horse blanket that the family are giving Josie for Christmas. Much milder and snowing to-night.
