Tuesday December 28th
Did chores and worked for a very short time at the chicken house. This after noon went up to Harvey Shand's to help audit the school books. Bill Donald consented to be the other auditor and we waited about an hour for him and then Flossie and I went at it, and Bill came before we finished. He had been delayed by taking Lloyd Ryerse to the doctor. Lloyd jammed his finger while fixing his pump and the doctor at first thought it would have to be amputated but put 12 stitches in it instead. We found the books correct although the bank balance was about twelve dollars shy and as Harvey draws cash from the bank to pay small accounts, we didn't know how to locate the trouble. Marj. has had a time with the baby. She has been sick all day and was sick at her stomach at noon. Marj. had to sit and hold her all the after noon. Very mild & cloudy - snowed a little.
Wednesday December 29th
We both got up about 3 a.m. with Gay who was sick at her stomach and I stayed up holdding her part of the time. She had a very distressing time and has been fretful all day except when she was asleep which was a good deal of the time. The baby was sick again too but they both seem better to-night. I got a little more done at the chicken house this forenoon and Marj. Harry B and I drove down town this after noon. Ina was here and she looked after the other two. Marj. went up to see Glad. Law and I went to Bill Laings and got my feed accounts straightened out. I hadn't kept track of what I got since last fall. I drove Ina home as soon as we got back here. A little colder to-day. Cloudy.
