Tuesday January 4th

Didn't get around very early this morning and spent most of the fore noon doing chores and putting a latch on the north storm door, and this after noon I didn't get much of anything done. Tupper came along with a load of implements he was taking up to his farm 16 miles west of Simcoe and he came in and got 3 cockrels from me and promised to bring me some buckwheat the next time he comes down. I {got the} boards for a door on the chicken pen but didn't get it put together. I did the chores up before dark and to-night drove Ina home as she was here washing to-day. Cloudy, very mild.

Wednesday January 5th

We were very late this morning getting up so I didn't do my=uch but chores beofre noon. I levelle doff the hay in the mow as Dad. told me he would send Archie Long out with anothe rload to-day and they came this after noon. It snowed quite hard for a half an hour or so bout noon so I got the cutter cleaned up as well as I could. The chickens have got it in a bad mess and toen the back seat Ina came up at noon and as soon as the Longs lkeft I hooke dup to the cutter
