Ina stayed all day. I did chores and Marj. and I spent a good part of the fore noon packing three chickens which I killed yesterday and which we were sending two to Dorrie and one to Mrs. Gorrie, and we packed in a couple of dozen eggs with Mrs. Gorrie's bird. This after noon all the kids went to sleep so Marj. and I drove down with the chickens and expressed them. Marj. went to the dentist's to have a tooth out but he was taking a half holiday. It seems they do every Wednesday. She went up to Essie's for a few minutes and found Essie stiffer than she was herself from the carnival. I got some feed at Billy Laings and we were down at Aunty's for quite awhile so it was nearly sundown when we got home and I then took Ina home. Beautiful day, sunny and mild. | ||

in spite of treating the band to coffe and sandwichs. The two best features of the evening were the hockey match between Dover & Jarvis "professionals" and the race for boys under 12. The professional men of Dover were made up of the two dentists. Dr. Struthers "Pat." McGaw McDonald. Mr. McKinnes the preacher and a few non-professionals. They had a junior O.H.A. man in goal and that saved them from an absolute defeat, as it was the score was 2 - 1 in favour of Jarvis. The Rev. McKinnes could barley skate let alone play hockey but he wound up by getting into a scrap with a Jarvis man and being put off. The funny part of the boys race was a little fellow not much bigger than Harry B. with a green dress on that reached the ice and hampered him more or less. He entered and instead of dropping out like several did when they found themselves hopelessly defeated he stayed till the last and gained ground by cutting across the middle of the ice instead of going around the corner posts. Milford Evans entered the race and would have done well but he had to slow up and soar around the corners instead of skate. It was after twelve when we got home. Very mild all day Drizzling to-night.
