(Left) Geo.Wright, Esq. We are pained to have to announce the death of Geo.Wright,Esq, of Amherst Island, which sad event took place at his residence at an early hour on Friday evening last. Mr.Wright has been ailing for a long time, and his friends have been aware that his decease could not be long delayed. Mr.W. was a man of particular ability, and during the number of years he represented his municipality in the County Council, he was one of the leading members, his voice being always heard in favor of every progressive movement and his opinion was universally respected by his fellow councillors.He was particularly interested in our educational system, and every movement pertaining to the better education of our youth invariably received his countenance and support. in his own neighborhood Mr.Wright had the respect of his fellow citizen and his death will be deeply regretted. The County Council have unanimously passed a resolution of condolence to be presented to the bereaved family. his funeral took place on Sunday last, his remains being followed to their last resting place by a large and sorrowing congregation of friends and relatives.

Since the last meeting of the Council he had learned that a former respected member of this Council had passed away. He reffered to Geo.Wright,Esq, ex-Reeve of Amherst Island,that gentleman having been buried on Sunday last. the gentleman was always held in the highest respect by his fellow members as an able man,who filled the position of Reeve with honor to himself and credit to the municipality he represented. he hoped to the Council would give expression to their sympathy for the bereaved family in a resolution of condolence or otherwise as they saw fit.
