The Manitoba took Henery on Board at the Foot Went around the Island set Fire to the North West side of the marsh of Francis Island got 2 Big staries and 2 small ones Fishing at the Little Island North side Brought home a Load of chips cleaning out the Milkhouse cutting stakes for the Fence

23rd Looking for the sheep went up to the head of the Island seen Donal MGreggor oiling the colts and Taking ticks of them we went Down to Rosses Island very Foggy cleared of he did not Like the Pature on Rofs's Island Left his salt I crofsed to the P.O. Got a Paper from Charlie Bought of Mr Vipond 15 Bunches of Matches 1 File Pipe had a treat with Murdy Grant he told me he was Going to California heard his Cousin was Killed on the RailRoad out at A Camerons Donald McGreggor told me he Lost his Grey horse Mrs Harper Poorly yet not expected to stand it Long cutting some Brush Down on the hill at the apple Trees on the Lower Point Gordon Randolph and I Found a Ducks nest with 10 eggs in it

24th Queen Victoria's Birth Day Mrs Harper Departed the  John A McDonald aground Last night at the Little Island Fired a Good many volleys this Morning Looking for the sheep Found them one of the sheep in the Barn came home herself to died Raining some to night the Manitoba into Dundee with her colours up turning some of the sugar Troughfs

25th cutting Brush in the Wet Place Below the house cut Down a Butternut on the Pitt Point made 6 Rails out of it cut Down some Choke Cherries for Rails
